Twila Clark, PH.D., BCBA Building Blocks of Orange County provides a variety of assessment and behavioral services for children with special needs and their families. For the past 15 years she has worked closely with children experiencing a range of difficulties from medical complications, developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders.
She is a licensed clinical psychologist as well as a board certified behavior analyst with a particular interest in the early identification of autism.
The Us Too Center is proud to offer diagnostic and assessment services through Building Blocks of Orange County under the direction of licensed psychologist, Dr. Twila Clark. Building Blocks offers the following Services:
Free Screenings:
Screenings are provided to determine if a more thorough assessment will be necessary and are always free.
- Free Developmental Screening
Behavioral Observations for Suspected Autism or Developmental Delay:
- Observation conducted in educational, home or office setting
- To determine the need for full developmental or diagnostic assessment
Developmental Assessments:
For infants and toddlers up to 42 months of age with developmental concerns. Assessment and recommendations may include any or all of the following areas:
- Cognitive and Play Skills
- Speech and Language Skills
- Gross and Fine Motor Skills
Diagnostic Assessments:
Assessment and recommendations may include any or all of the following:
- Early Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Developmental Skills for children up to 3.6 years of age
- Cognitive Skills and IQ Testing for children 2.6 years of age and older
- Achievement Screening for possible Learning Disorders
Independent Educational Evaluations:
An Assessment to determine appropriate educational placement and supportive services for individual's with special needs by evaluating the following:
- Classroom Readiness Skills
- Functional Analysis of Behavior
- Observation of Current Placement and Proposed Placement(s)
- School Functioning Assessment

Special Education Advocacy in Southern California
Services:
- Professional advocacy services to assist parents of children with special needs in matters pertaining to their child's educational placement, program, services and assessments.
- Assist parents through the IEP process, Resolution Session proceeding, Mediation conference, and Due Process Hearing.
- Assist parents with the SST process, 504 meetings, SARB Hearings, and Expulsion proceedings.
- Help the parents in the development of the child’s special education and related services.
- Suggest strategies that might be helpful in moving the child toward the educational services, programs, and placement that he/she needs.
- Assist parents with concerns pertaining to the evaluation/assessment process.
Background:
Nick Davaei has been involved in the area of Special Education for nearly a decade on both sides of the table. He began his career in the public sector by teaching special education for 3 years while attending Law School at nights where he earned his Juris Doctorate degree. In addition, he served as the Due Process Liaison/ADR Coordinator for 2 years for one of the largest school districts in America . Since then and for the past 6 years he has been working with the private sector in representing children with special needs and has been able to achieve great success for these wonderful children and their families. He has attended many IEP meetings, and has assisted many families through the Due Process proceedings with great succes
